Safe and Sober Grad Night

Safe and Sober Grad Night, (SSGN), is one LHS PTSA’s largest events of the year. It would not happen if not for the hard work and numerous volunteer hour spent by our event Chairpersons and the many parent volunteers. SSGN begins at 10PM following the graduation ceremony. It gives our graduating class an opportunity to celebrate their big day without the use of any illegal substances providing a safe and sober grad night party on what is statistically a “HIGH RISK” night for our Graduates!

LHS PTSA is proud to partner with Via Heart Project to publicize this 100% FREE heart screening for teens from ages 12-25 This year’s event took place March 20th at Hart Middle School in Pleasanton.

PTSA Takes The Torch to the Movies

LHS PTSA is proud to partner with the online student newspaper and sponsor student journalists to attend and review the latest releases. LHS PTSA sponsors four movies per year and our LHS students write the reviews.

Check out the latest reviews in the Arts and Entertainment Section of The Torch!

Speakers Series

LHS PTSA invites in speakers to help strengthen the Home-to-School connection. We’ve heard from the Career Technical Education Program, Tri-Valley Regional Occupational Program, and the International Foreign Exchange Program at LHS. We’ve heard from teachers and students about all of the AMAZING opportunities available to our students.

Picnic Pick of the Month

Click to Go to Mr. Pickle’s website

The LHS Picnic Pick of the Month is sponsored by Mr. Pickle’s in Livermore and is designed to recognize staff members who go above and beyond for our students and LHS community at large. Those staff members whose small touches make a HUGE difference! This can be a simple as always having something nice to say, service with a smile, or “going the extra mile.”

The selected staff member receives a picnic lunch delivered to them complete with picnic basket and personal-sized tablecloth! One staff member is selected for every month school is in session. The winning staff member will be featured on the LHS PTSA website, Facebook page, Twitter and announced at our PTSA membership meetings!

NSC Scholar Athletes

It takes a special commitment to balance both your sport and academics while maintaining the highest of standards. Students who maintain an unweighted G.P.A. of 3.5 or higher in the season of their sport are awarded the NCS Scholar Athlete Certificate. Those students who are awarded are eligible to order a NCS Scholar Athlete patch which can be sewn onto a letterman jacket or kept as a reminder for an outstanding accomplishment.
LHS PTSA works in collaboration with the LHS Athletics Director, James Petersdorf, to ensure all NCS Scholar Athletes receive their certificate and letter of recognition. If you have questions about the NCS certificate, please email Mr. Petersdorf at or call at 925-606-4812.
For the convenience of our LHS families, JacketBack, a LHS PTSA Sponsor, can order the NCS Scholar Athlete patch for student athletes and has a link to the NCS ordering site at on their home page.

The NCS website also lists scholarships for high achieving academic athletes. More information can be found at

Service Awards

Honorary Service Awards are awarded throughout the year and designed as a unique way for PTA units, councils, and districts to publicly acknowledge both individuals and organizations for outstanding community service to children and youth in a community. All funds collected with this program are used exclusively to support the California State PTA scholarship and grant programs.
LHS PTSA enjoys honoring those who have contributed to our success. One way we are able to do this is by recognizing members with CA State PTA Service Awards. Please click HERE for information on each Award.
