We are looking for a Few Good Men. . . and women, and students
Here’s What We Need for 2017-2018
Walk-through/Registration Chair – Okay, I’m not gonna lie. . .this is a beast of a job. It is SOOOO important and helps our Principal and Administrators get all our LHS students registered for high school. Good news – once it’s over you’re done and you’ve made an enormous contribution. Walk-through days are in August of each school year. This volunteer must be available during registration times on registration days and possess SUPERHUMAN organizational skills. What I LOVE about this event is that I get to see everyone after summer ends and before school begins. Contact us at email@example.com. (Just asking doesn’t commit you – pinky swear. 😆 )
Student Board Members – We LOVE having students on our board. We have one monthly meeting after school for one hour and five membership meetings per year. Student input is VITAL to our success. This is a great position for a senior so that he/she can then apply for the $500 CA State PTA scholarship. They LOVE to see student board members apply.
Student Athletic Liaisons (Fall, Winter, Spring) – The goal of PTSA is to connect with all of our students and groups on campus. Just come and let us know what’s going on, how our teams are doing, and how we can help spread the spirit!
**Additional Positions – Didn’t see a position that you’d be PERFECT for? No problem, I’m sure we can work something out. Just contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Dollars for Doers
What is a Dollars for Doers Matching Gift Program?
- Many companies have corporate volunteer grants or volunteer matching programs also known as Dollars for Doers programs. These programs allow employees to volunteer for their favorite organization or cause and the employer will match their volunteer hours with a financial donation to the nonprofit.
- The donation match varies and may be a flat rate for a minimum number of volunteer hours performed by the employee, or perhaps $10 per each eligible hour spent volunteering. Some companies will match at a higher rate. This is great way for companies to enhance their corporate social responsibility efforts.
- Look into the Matching Gift program at your employer and make your volunteer hours to LHS PTSA go further with a potential employer match!
- Do you need additional information like a Tax ID for your company to match? Just email our PTSA Treasurer at email@example.com.
